I bought this item 3 weeks ago, and have been wearing it ever since. It was a present from my wife. When it arrived, it was beautiful and appeared well-done. Disappointingly, both the chain and the medal are completely tarmished already. The back of the medal now has a greenish tint. As a matter of fact, the chain is nearly brown. By the way, the chain has no clasp.
It doesn't seem like something designed to be worn as jewelry would tarnish so badly in just three weeks.

My friend is in Law Enforcement and his birthday was coming up and I thought he could use a little keepsake/ reminder that someone was protecting him. The overall quality of this item is beautiful and is easy to engrave.
