2poorly made lightsNov 08, 2007

I was very disappointed in this set of solar lights simply because of the poor quality. Two of the lights do not work. I had to work very hard to get two others put together since the parts did not mesh well. It is a shame because they are attractive if you like novelty lights, and I do. I bought another set of lights at about the same time and the difference in quality was astounding. The other set is made of metal and glass, not plastic, and went together easily and work well. Yet the well made set actually cost less per light. I hate to give a bad review, but I think buyers should be forewarned about the poor quality. As I said, these are cute and make a nice change for winter. If they just were of a higher quality. I kept the set even though two do not work at all, since sending it back and going through all the nonsense required, just did not seem worth it.

5Pleasantly surprised by this set!Nov 28, 2007

After the previous review, I was scared to buy this product, but Amazon's price was $9.99 on Thanksgiving weekend, so I decided to give it a try. I must say, I'm glad I did. I just installed the set today and it has worked great for me! The instructions say to charge the panel for at least 10-12 hours in direct sunlight before use, and after only 5 hours of charge time, the set has been glowing for 5 hours and counting (it's now 11:07pm). Also, they really look great during the day and works nicely with the winter wonderland/ice theme we have for our outdoor decorations. As far of the quality/look: the snowflake part feels like a hard, clear plastic and mimics the look of ice, the pole and stakes seemed secure and pretty sturdy. I did have a little trouble screwing a couple of the pieces together, but it worked when I did it vertically (as the instructions say) and not horizontally. Instructions are straightforward, and easy to install.

One thing I wish I knew before, but may have missed it in the product specs: The colors of the snowflake alternate automatically between red, green, and blue. I thought it was white.

My only wish is that I bought 4 more b/c now the price is $29.99/set.

These are nice solar lights, I had NO trouble at all putting them together. Luckily I bought 3 sets at $9.99 each after Thanksgiving Day, I wish I had bought more!! Even at $12.99 these are a great deal.... So buy'em, you'll like'em!

3Beautiful lights, poor quality controlDec 17, 2007

I bought 4 sets, and after 5 days of usage, only 9 out of 24 lights are still glowing in the dark.
I live in sunny Southern California, so there's no shortage of exposure to sun. I just wish the manufacture quality control department takes more pride in their work. The lights are truly beautiful, but the quality is disappointing.

These are cool. It would be nice if they were white, but they are not (so I can't hold it against them.) If you properly charge them before first use, and put them in a sunny spot with the solar panels facing it, they light up all night long. Not bad for short New England winter days. They are somewhat short if you get too much snow, you may have to clear off the solar panel part. Otherwise you can put the all over the place for a cool addition to the yard.
