 An Interesting PremiseFeb 06, 2010
First of all let me say that this is a Christian book. I guess that should be obvious from the title of the book but since James Michael Pratt does not specialize in Christian literature, albeit inspirational, I think it is necessary to make it clear that this is a very Christian read. The premise is that a 21st century man who is a non-believer (married to a Christian wife) is able to go back in time (via a near-death experience) to the time of the Last Supper and Christ's death upon the cross and resurrection. He meets up with the inn-keeper who is regretful and remorseful about having refused room at the inn for Mary and Joseph. I really do not want to say more about the story line for fear of spoiling it for other readers but all in all, Pratt is able to weave a believable tale that transcends time and space to show the power of Christ. I think it would be interesting for believers as well as non-believers. The writing was a little draggy at times but overall the descriptions, emotion of the characters, and authenticity of the setting and times was remarkable. Pratt is an excellent writer. I have read several of his other books and hope to see more in the future.
A story of faith for all to readJan 01, 2010
I just finished reading The Christ Report and I came away with a new sense of faith. It is such a powerful story. Written in current time and the time of Jesus readers will learn about the struggles Sam Robertson has with faith and believing and how Cleopas is trying to redeem himself in the time of Jesus. This is a story that not only believers should read, but also non believers. There is a very powerful message to warm our hearts.

I have read all of James Pratt's books and find them to be one of the best.I just read "the Christ Report" and found it to be very interesting.He put himself back at the time of Jesus and told how he percieved things that were happening.It's partly fiction but names and situations were just as it had to be back then.

With negative headlines blaring all around us, this book brings a much needed message of hope. It is a lovely story of Sam, living in today's world, and Cleopas,living in the time of Jesus, finding out what really matters in life. And then once they find it, changing their lives to actually experience it. The author skillfully weaves an intriguing story around the greatest events that have taken place on this earth--the birth and death of Jesus Christ. Sam and Cleopas will lead you through time with a story that will gladden your heart!

I just loved this story! I think that even if you weren't so much a "person of faith", that you would like this book and it would hopefully inspire you, the way it did me. When I first saw the title of the book, "The Christ Report", I thought it was some religious book of theological mumbo jumbo, but it was a really good story (as are all of James Michael Pratt's works that I have read) and I enjoyed being enveloped in the story-line as I read. I would highly recommend this book to anyone wanting to briefly escape reality and go on a really cool journey!
